2022.01.17 13:58 elijahjane I find the prevalence of the chimney as a spiritual portal interesting.
I recall Elizabeth talking about how villis would often turn into birds and fly out of chimneys when their magic clothes were returned to them. There is also a Bavarian folklore where a changeling child escapes through the chimney when the mother denied it.
We also have Santa Claus who arrives and leaves through the chimney. What other myth involves a spirit or deity moving through chimneys?

2022.01.17 13:58 Relevant_Ranger9218 Farming in retro hardcore pvp 400ED
Since the wars in hardcore retro pvp are really expensive, I would like to find a hunting spot to solo to earn as lot of money as possible. I'm doing the bosses if I find a team, but sometimes that is really difficult.
Is there a spot to farm lots of money? Exp/h doesn't really matter

2022.01.17 13:58 birchC Vendovi Sailish Commuter review
Vendovi Sailish Commuter (Full disclosure: A good friend of mine does the graphics and branding for Vendovi). I've been looking for an underseat/EDC bag, less than 20 liters as I'd finally blew the zipper on the bag I've travelled with for the last 10 years. I wanted something durable, muted, and that would fit in everywhere.
The size: My previous bag was 9 liters and I was concerned that the Vendovi would be too big, but It fits well under seats on a plane. The envelope style closure means the bag isn't much bigger than what you have in it. I'd say it goes down to about 15l at the smallest.
The materials and construction: The leather backpack straps are thick smooth leather. You can feel the quality. I have been pleasantly surprised by how the backpack straps mold to my shoulders. I have them adjusted failrly tight and although there's no stretch it's like the leather just does a better job suspending the weight in the bag. Note that although I've filled the bag, I'm not loading it with much weight. The waxed canvas immediately shows wrinkles. This is the character to expect from the material and it will continue to look better in my opinion. If you're wanting the smooth look of nylon, this isn't it. The racing sail liner is beautiful. Makes me wish every back I own was lined with it. The bright white reflects light down into the bag. The material is smooth, but it's a bit noisy when getting things out of the bag. The stitching looks very consistent and durable as well. The brass buckle is beautiful, but it slips if there isn't tension on it. The tail of the strap that holds the buckle is really long when it's adjusted to it's lowest point. I considered shortening it but ingeneously there's some simple daisy loops stitched into the strap as it comes up the bag to the point where the buckle is attached. That allowed me to loop the extra length into the daisy chain so it pretty much disappears.
Features: The key feature for me is the handle on top of the bag. This is a must have feature for me and I wouldn't have bought the bag without it. The handle is riveted to the backpack straps. It's a simple design and it works well. I've carried the bag by that handle through a few airports already and it's conforming to my hand already. The interior organization is minimal. There is a laptop sleeve, an upper pocket the width of the bag, a couple accessory pockets and a couple pen pockets. For more organization I bought a couple of tech pouches and I already had a Grid-it panel. There's light padding in the back panel that is stitched into a chevron design that is more confortable than I expected.
Overall: I really like the bag, and the more I use it the more I like it. I spent months looking at bags before buying this one. I was drawn to the minimal design using old materials that should look better with age. The size is just right. I wouldn't want it any bigger for a EDC/underseat bag. There's a simple genius to the design that just seems very well thought out.
Negatives: So I'm pretty r\logo_averse. The burnt orange tag isn't too overdone, but it's the maximum I would want on a bag of this high quality. I have a 13" laptop and the 15" laptop sleeve goes all the way down to the bottom of the bag. It was hard to get the laptop out and I was concerned about the laptop's edge hitting the floor when I set the bag down, so I rolled up my microfiber travel towel and stuffed it into the sleeve. This not only pads the edge of the laptop but also raises it up so I can get it out of the sleeve easier. The drawback is the weight of the laptop is up higher so the bag falls backwards and doesn't stand up on it's own. I've gotten used to it and now I just lean the back of the back against something when I set it down.
